Hi everyone,

I just wanna ask questions to anyone who is currently using Nitro 5 AN515-42 regarding the battery life.
How long does the battery drain on your end? Mine usually last around 2-4 hrs (while only using it for Facebook/Youtube/Music/Movie)

Is this normal? I usually use it starting at 95% then charging it around 10-20% for every use.

If no, do you have any Tips regarding to this? Help is much appreciated!

I can understand that it not normal to drain so soon , just try to do a power drain and uninstall battery drivers and check how the battery life is.
power drain: Just check the back of the unit, you can find a pin hole , unplug the charger and turn off the unit. now put a paper clip in the small pin hole and press and hold it for 30 sec.
Than to go device manager and uninstall the battery driver and restart the unit and check.

Modern lion batteries for gaming laptops are not affected by charging to 100% and KEPT plugged in. The technology used shuts off charging at 100% and then trickle charges when the battery falls below 98%. In fact your laptop CPU cannot attain and meet consistent high performance unless charged to 100% BEFORE gaming and KEPT plugged in while gaming.
Also the official Acer battery conditioning method calls for you to discharge your battery and  FULLY recharge it

Thank you so much for the help.

Try the below step and check:
When you get a new laptop battery, proper charging, discharging will allow you to maximize your battery’s life and capabilities. Please charge the battery to 100% at first, then disconnect the power source to discharge the battery fully(5%), this charge/discharge cycle should be repeated two to three times before initial use. If your Acer NITRO 5 AN515-42 battery does not charge up to full capacity you should remove it from the device and then place it back inside of the device. Then start the charge/discharge cycle again

Thanks for the reply Jack, I actually have done this a couple of times now(charge/discharge cycle part). I just usually start charging the laptop from 20-30% until 95% then I unplugged the ac and go back doing the same stuff since I heard HERE on this forum that charging the battery 100% all the time can affect the battery in the long run so I do this every time I use it. I charge the laptop like 2-3times a day when I do this routine. Are these normal at all?

Charging the laptop to 100% will not affect the battery life in a long run.
