Glad to meet you too my friend and happy that Windows 10 and the AMD 2020 Center is working. You now have to setup the AMD 2020 Center to make sure it uses your R7 M265 for gaming, so follow my instructions below and please click YES to accept my answer.

Open the New AMD 2020 Control Center and click the GAMING tab then click the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner and select ADD A GAME, navigate to your games .exe file and double click it to add it, or you can select SCAN FOR GAMES and let the Control Center search your hard drive for games to add. After successfully adding the game click on the game and you will be taken to another window and click the LAUNCH GAME tab.
Only in this way will your games use the Discrete GPU, NEVER launch your game through a desktop shortcut or any other way, do it in the manner I have described.

Please remember that online gaming may experience low fps and stutter due to the games servers and bottlenecking and that has nothing to do with your GPU. Also remember to game with the battery charged to 100% BEFORE gaming and KEEP plugged into power while gaming

    Hi!!

    @Stepphan9

Your laptop will use gtx 920m while you are playing game and it will use hd graphics while you are using browser or watching a movie to save power. If you think your nvidia gtx920m is not working. Then go to my computer, then click properties, select device manager, graphics, then enable nvidia gtx920m,if it is enabled then disable it and enable it again. If you are still facing problems, then check your graphic drivers and install them again from internet. After installing latest driver you will see no problem. Hope this will help you.

The new AMD Adrenalin 2020 Control Center is designed to give support for your hardware and contains Mobile Driver support for this exact model, the Graphics Drivers on the Acer site are only base drivers. If you haven't already downloaded and installed it then click the link below to download it. If you get a failure installing the new Control Center then download and run DDU https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html for a clean uninstall of your current AMD Center and Drivers then try to install again

    https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-20-1-4

Most of the problems I have encountered answering questions similar to yours are that users do not have the GPU set up correctly in the Control Center and are gaming on their Dedicated GPU which gives poor performance and is not designed for gaming. I have your exact model and my gaming experience using the AMD 2020 Control Center is good, Follow these instructions

First make sure you game with your battery charged to 100% BEFORE gaming and KEEP plugged into the main AC power while gaming. Make sure "High Performance when on AC", is selected in your Windows Power Plan and in Nitrosense. If you fail to do this your CPU will run at around 50% of capacity and you will experience poor game performance

Open the New AMD 2020 Control Center and click the GAMING tab then click the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner and select ADD A GAME, navigate to your games .exe file and double click it to add it, or you can select SCAN FOR GAMES and let the Control Center search your harddrive for games to add. After successfully adding the game click on the game and you will be taken to another window and click the LAUNCH GAME tab.
Only in this way will your games use the Discrete GPU, NEVER launch your game through a desktop shortcut or any other way, do it in the manner I have described.

First download and run DDU https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html for a clean uninstall of your current AMD Center

Follow this guide from AMD to install on Windows 8.1 and make sure you download the Windows 7 64 bit version not the Windows 10

Adrenalin 2020 can be installed on Windows 8.1 x64

    1. Download latest version for Windows 7 x64    https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-20-1-4

    2. Start installation, make a note of the folder it will be installed in

    3. When message that it could not be installed appears, close program

    4. In "Device Manager" expand "Display Adapters" select your AMD device with mouse right click and choose "Update Driver Software..."

    5. Select "Browse my computer for driver software"

    6. In next screen browse to folder where installation is extracted and choose the folder that looks something like this "AMD\Win7-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-2020-Edition-20.1.4-Jan28\Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF", click "Next" and wait for installation of driver to finish

    7. Now to install CCC (Control Panel), go to "Program Files\AMD\CCC2\Install" folder, run "ccc2_install.exe", and wait to finish installation (it could take few minutes)

    8. In "Start" menu find group "AMD Settings" run Program "AMD Settings" and configure it (it must to be run manually first time to activate auto start of all services and programs)

    9. Wait few minutes for background processes to finish and Restart system (not "Shutdown" and turn on)

Now you have installed complete driver and Control Panel (AMD Settings), and autorun of AMD Settings and all services activated.
