Hello!

I have a problem with the keyboard. Some keys works fine, some writes wrong single characters/numbers, while some keys

writes combinations of characters and numbers. Examples: Both "M" and "K" gives "ikm", "W" gives "2wsx".

Both onscreen keyboard and USB-keyboard works fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Not necessarily. This can also be caused by a corrupt driver or even input language settings in Windows. As for the driver, hit the windows key on the keyboard and R. This will pull up the run command. Type in DEVMGMT.MSC which opens the device manager "copy paste if your keyboard is acting up". Now look for keyboard or input devices, right click and uninstall it. Once done restart your computer and the driver will automatically reinstall.

If that doesn't work I'll need more information. What version of windows do you have?

Sorry I probably should have added that you need to open the drop down list. When you see Keyboards it will have a small arrow to the left of it. Click that and it should open up with your keyboard devices. Right click on everything you see in this submenu and uninstall.

Sadly no, there is no way to uninstall the driver like regular programs.

If this doesn't work it's possible that the keyboard is defective but to save yourself some time you could always try a system recovery to eliminate any further windows errors. Doing a recovery will completely uninstall and reinstall Windows from your system and start you from scratch with all the default drivers and software. You'd then need to do updates as with a regular Windows installation.

Doing a recovery WILL erase everything on your disk so be sure to back up any important files beforehand on either USB, DVD/CD's or an external hard drive (network drive, cloud storage, you get the picture).

To start the recovery look in your start menu under all programs for the Acer file. In the Acer file there is a program called "Acer eRecovery Management". Load this program and look to the left of the window that opens for the Restore option. The list that opens will have three options. Choose the first one and then wait for the install to finish.

It can take up to an hour to complete so be sure to plug the system in.

If this doesn't work you will need to have your unit serviced. You can contact Acer for more details or take it to a local tech.
