Hi, I was playing game on my acer nitro 5 (AN515-52) with charging on and it suddenly turned off. There is no led indication for charging or when the power button is pressed. I tried doing a battery reset by using that battery reset hole but it didn't work. Also tried pressing power button for 15 seconds but didn't work. Please help!

NO it's just a Power Supply. Many PC users including myself use a Surge protector with battery power supply back up. Spikes in current and power outages can fry the MOB

    Good Morning Pradeep42 !

Remove the battery and then press the power button for 30 seconds.
Reconnect the battery and do a test.
    If not, try another charger.

Go to Device Manager, expand Battery and uninstall both entries then resboot. If that doesn’t work you will have to go to a local computer store and ask to plug in to one of their chargers, if it works you have a bad charger, if it doesn’t it’s a bad battery

Sorry I forgot you can’t turn on. You will have to try another charger at a store. You are under warranty and even the best laptops sometimes have a defective part even if very new, that’s why you have a warranty

Is there something else I can do before going to a service center? The service center is very far away so I want check everything that can fix it at home.

Have you tried using a different wall outlet? You have done a battery reset so the only other thing that you can do is go to a local repair store or a friend and plug into their charger and see if it works.

That’s about all you can do without taking it to the repair center, a faulty charger is not unknown. If I have helped answer your question please click Yes

Hey @andylb, I called Acer's official support and they sent one of their engineers to my home. He said that my motherboard has a problem and will get it replaced. Can you tell me how and why did the motherboard became faulty and what can I do to prevent it from happening again? The engineer himself is unable to find a cause for the motherboard to die.

It can happen for a variety of reasons but one of the most common is not using a surge protector to protect from unstable or spiking electrical supply

Hello, I think the problem with the game so you should not have played such that game. Just wait for some time and try again, then uninstall the game as soon as it has been opened.

Normally, while playing games (big size game 1GB or More), get heated. Then suddenly exit the game / power off. Don't wory remove charging adapter utill the system has been cool.

The laptop is literally built of heavy games. You can even run GTA V and keep your laptop cool by turning on V-Sync. That game isn't a problem.
