I Own Acer Nitro AN515-51 with upgraded 32GB Ram and 2TB SEAGATE FIRECUDA.
I got New SSD "Crucial P1 M.2 2280 1TB" for SSD upgrade.
I have cloned My OS to HDD when I boot from HDD with connecting SSD it works. However When I connect the new SSD it doesn't boot. Not even till BIOS Screen.
So was wondering if 1TB SSD is compatible with this laptop or not.
I could not find any documentation regarding compatible upgrades for the same.

    Hi,
Yes, it's compatible with your model, did you change the boot order in BIOS to make the SSD as your first boot device? You could also try removing the HDD and leave only the SSD and see whether it boots.

Also check the link below and check and for the RAM and SSD/HDD upgrades for your unit. They are Crucial and they guarantee compatibility with your exact model. Kindly write down the part number and then order from Amazon, it's cheaper and has fast delivery.

Thank you for your response. Drives you suggested are 2.5" SSD however I am looking for compatibility of NVME M.2 SSD the picture I have attached.

    @brummyfan2

Appreciate your response here. Well below are scenarios I have tried to work on

    1. Tried to read the Crucial P1 SSD using external enclosure. It says drive is not initialized and It does Initialize Drive option in Disk Management Console is grayed out.

    2. I Migrated my OS to my HDD and replaced 128GB SSD with Crucial P1 SSD, in this case Laptop did not boot. Not even Acer Logo. Powers on lights on keyboard comes up, display flickers ones and thats it. Nothing further. However when I keep SSD slot empty and boot from HDD it works.

    3. This new SSD has no way to be seen in BIOS since having that Crucial P1 Attached laptop does not start at all even till BIOS.

PS - BIOS is updated and have tried booting through both Legacy as well as UEFI Mode.

Yes I did check that link and Crucial P1 is not in the compatible SSD list.

If that is true then I believe I have to return the SSD. :(

    Hi @Arul315
I don't know how you cloned the HDD, so I would suggest you to install HDD only and download Minitool Partition wizard free program, install it, then install M.2 SSD and boot with the HDD, run Minitool partition wizard, use migrate feature to transfer everything from HDD to M.2 SSD, then remove HDD and boot with SSD only in the laptop.

    Hey @brummyfan2

I have full version of EASEUS Partition Master which does the same job. Here's what I have done.
    - Migrated OS from 128GB SSD to 2TB HDD
    - Removed 128GB SSD and put 1TB SSD
When try to boot it, laptop does not even reach to BIOS Screen. Only Keyboard backlit lights up and display flickers once and then nothing happen.

However if I remove SSD and boot with only HDD it works fine.

    Hi,
Have you tried different SATA mode, if you can change in Advance tab in BIOS, give it a shot.

I am not able to reach to BIOS after connecting new SSD. No matter any configuration I use.

    Hi,
I think it could be incompatibility or the size of the drive but I have seen others installing a 500GB M.2 SSD in this model instead of recommended 256GB.

Let's see. I have ordered M.2 SATA SSD now of 1TB if that gets detected. I will update if 1TB supports or not. Otherwise Will have to settle with 500GB.
