Dear all,

I think since W10 1903 my gtx 1050 is not working. I tried almost everything, including W10 resintall; but the graphic card remains stopped. THe intel one is working only then. I even can not deinstall 1903, I do not find it among the windows update panel...If i try to install a former driver (november 2019) I got a blue screen...

Do a clean Uninstall of  all Nvidia drivers by downloading and running DDU
    https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Then go here to have Nvidia autodetect your hardware and install updated drivers
    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-us

Many thanks for the advice; I run DDU under safe mode; then reinstall the acer recommended drivers under normal windows 10 and of course the same problem again..I am quite sure this is linked to windows 1903...

I don’t so, many users have 1903 and your card. I think your Nvidia Control Center is set up incorrectly. Do this

Go to the Nvidia control center and click Manage 3d settings tab, then click the Global Settings tab and change Preferred Graphics processor from Auto select to your Nvidia GPU, do this by clicking the downward arrow to the right of Auto Select and select the Nvidia GPU. Then under the Program Settings tab select the programs and games that you want to run on the Nvidia GPU. Do the same under the Set PhysX Configuration tab

Do not install the Acer recommended drivers they are generic if you already installed them you can leave them, do this

Then go here to have Nvidia autodetect your hardware and install updated drivers

I think my only hope is to make a full factory reset as advised by another member. If I still have the same issue; I will send it back under warranty, this is crazy, this laptop is 3 weeks old, only two programs installed; and I also had multiple blue screens with the 1909 windows update so had to go back to 1903 already. I think this was already a graphic card incompatibility. I got a dell for 10 years without any issue upgrading from windows 8 to 10 without any pb..

Well you have rolled back the driver and updated the driver, that leaves the possibility of a hardware issue with the card. Windows 1903 is successfully installed on many if not most of the AN515-54 models with no GPU problems reported. I feel your still under warranty I’d send it in

Second do a battery reset to discharge static which can solve he oddest problems. Unplug your laptop from the ac then hold down the power button for 12 seconds, let it sit for 15 minutes then plug back in and boot up

ok! many thanks, let s try!
  • Is windows trying to force the update to the dch driver? If my mate andylb's procedure doesn't work, perform this procedure:
    a) try resetting the battery: in some models, just press the power button for 12 seconds and in other versions, it is necessary to press the battery reset button for five seconds and leave the notebook turned off for 5 minutes;
    b) if the above procedure does not work, do this:
b.1) first download the latest versions of the intel and nvidia dch drivers here:
b.2) then, disable wireless and uninstall and delete the intel and nvidia drivers in the device manager:

    c) restart windows and do not activate wireless. Install the latest dch drivers and post the result!

My friend @egydiocoelho may be right, there has been an issue lately with the driver type and DCH drivers may solve it
