New System Shuts down randomly - Predator PH315-52

This is my first Acer and probably my last.  The system intermittently shuts down while plugged in, usually while typing.  I'm barely applying pressure to the keys. $1500 is much for serious gamers but for me it is. I found some old posts of the same type of power issues in the 2026-2018 archives here but they shut that post down. Funny huh? Has anyone experienced a power issue like this?

My system is as follows:
Predator PH315-52
i7-9750H 2.6GHz
64 bit OS
16GB  RAM
NVMe WDC PC SN720 SDA
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

The service is unbelievably bad. I've been faxing, emailing, calling and getting a live person that speaks english has been impossible. The person I did get once was reading scripts and wasn't listening to anything I was saying. I'm still waiting for the overnighted label after 3 weeks. The first 5 days were great though.

  • Hi! Have you tried pressing the power button for 12 seconds to reset the battery? Does this model have a power interruption button next to the ram?

I had the same issue with this laptop brand new machine, I unplugged the battery and held the power button down and the system turned back on. Hope this helps someone else and if it doesn't send this expensive unit to acer so they can figure it out

AyersMom5 if a battery power drain wont solve it as suggested by @egydiocoelho you can try a stock recovery clean install but backup whatever you need first select delete everything option in order to rule out any software issues if the issue persists after this i suggest you to arrange with acer support directly to send it back to get it checked
