Helios 300 G3-571 Intermittent power question

Hey everyone, 

I've got a G3-571 with an intermittent power connection issue. When the battery is at 100%, the laptop will alternate between being "plugged-in" and battery. It causes the screen to change brightness, and there's a beep every time it happens. 

It only happens when the battery is charged to 100%, though. While charging up, it stays fully connected. The issue started about 2+ months ago. 

I've tried resetting the battery, uninstalling the battery and ac adaptor drivers from Windows, and I've fully discharged the battery before recharging, and I'm still getting the same issue. 

Has anyone else encountered this, and if so, how did you fix it?

  • Does the same problem occur when you change power modes to balanced or power saving?

    Yes, the problem persists, regardless of power mode.

    Techfiend check your battery wear and your power adapter with a voltmeter as in the best case one of those could be faulty worst case would be the mobo itself you can also try to uninstall the acpi drivers followed by battery power drain and bios setup defaults also other option its to reset to stock via recovery clean install check here but backup whatever you need first lastly if nothing else works and if still on warranty contact acer support and send it back
