I have a acer nitro AN515-53 with a Freed_CFS mother board. The laptop originally came with 1/2 ram slots used with 8gb 2666mhz. I installed 2 crucial 8gb 3200mhz sticks removing the original ram. my laptop tells me my ram speed is still only 2666mhz. Im wondering if this is some kind of error or if my laptop only supports ram speeds up to 2666mhz?

This model supports a maximum of 2666Mhz limited by processor and chipset.

The ideal would be to use fully compatible RAM.
But if you follow the characteristics of your original such as frequency, capacity, CAS, etc., it is unlikely that errors or incompatibility would occur.

    Good afternoon bruno1234567890 !

What EXACT model of your laptop?
By default this series does not support frequencies above 2666.
Most models only at the frequency of 2400.

    In many ways.
You can search for chipset control on the developer's website, processor support base on the producer's website, or the responsible forums.

Thank you, One last question. So im gonna return the 2x 8gb 3200mhz sticks i purchased and just buy a single 8gb 2666mhz stick and use it with the original ram that came with the laptop, does mix and matching different brands matter as long as i keep the same clock speed and rank consistent across all sticks?

and if i keep the rank the same but 1 stick has a higher clock speed the system will just operate at the lower clock speed with no problems?
