I try to find help from Acer sites. Not find updates, software or good support to my modell! My problem is> Device Manager> Other Device> PCI Device and DMA Controller. Other problem is>System Devices> Intel (R) Trusted Execution Engine Interface. How does this affect my machine use..i don't know the answer to that? I'm just trying to get my machine up and running when the machine slowed down and became cluttered, so I got the win10 update and restarted my previous operating system! Now lacking Acer's own applications and using the mouse pad is not the same as before (two finger scrolling etc). Other problem is after about an hour when the computer goes to sleep, the fan starts to run at full power. It happens at regular intervals! The machine does not obey any commands, only forced shutdown. The machine did it randomly during the new warranty period, but I didn't see it as a problem. Now this happens every time the machine is on for a long time and goes into programmed sleep mode! I write this message on that laptop, but something is wrong? Hope you understood my english :)If you can help even little, i am satisfied!

Greetings

Kari

Hello Kari! Let's see... because there are several things here to tackle!
    • Which Acer software did you use to have? I just checked the support page for your model, and it seems it came with Windows 8.1, am I correct?

In the support page you can download some Acer applications that came with your computer, at least 3 are listed for Windows 8.1, but out of those 3 only 1 seems to be relevant (or released?) for Windows 10; the Quick Access one (I think it's the one that displays stuff in the screen when you press some special keys).

    • Over there at the support page there ought to be drivers for every component your laptop has, but even if there weren't, Windows Update has a rather extensive database of drivers and it should (emphasis on should) download them on its own. What may happen, which is why I dislike going through major OS upgrades without doing a clean installation, is that old drivers, remnants of them or applications may linger and interfere with the proper working of the OS.

For example, what you report about the sleep mode with fans going all nuts and you needing to hard reset the machine likely has to do with the graphic drivers or the power settings that are currently set in your machine. And given that there was a Power Management app before for that machine when running Windows 8.1...  :/

There is no easy fix, well... there is, but it's tedious :P. You'd need to get all of the things you value out of the laptop (say... to an external hard drive for example) and clean install Windows (i.e. deleting all of the partitions you have and letting the installation program do its thing), leaving the driver selection for it to do once you connect to the Internet. Depending on the amount of things you have it may take a while (plus the time it'd take to reinstall the programs you regularly use), but at least if you experience the same things you'd know something's up and it's not because of the in-place upgrade.
In any case, the support page for your model is https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/5394?b=1

And if you want to reinstall Windows anew, there are some instructions I wrote not too long ago that could guide you more or less: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/772409#Comment_772409

Best of luck, I hate it when problems appear irregularly, it's harder to find what the cause could be :(
