Hi there,

So here's what's heppening:
I've had my laptop for a little over a year, and everything's been fine. Until a couple of days ago that my battery imply won't charge. The battery indicator is permanently orange, meaning the battery is charging, but it won't charge pass 12%.
I have already tried reinstalling the battery driver and doing a battery reboot, but nothing has solved my problem.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,
Did you perform a battery reset? If not, switch off the laptop, disconnect from mains, follow the instructions in the video, after completion leave the laptop to rest for 20mins, then reconnect the AC adapter and fully charge the laptop before start using it again. 2 is the pinhole in my snip.

Already followed the steps and left it charging for awhile, the LED was orange for a whole afternoon and the problem persists. Only that now the battery permanently marks 90%
  • Hi,
You could try reinstalling the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant control method battery driver, go to Device manager, expand Batteries, right click Microsoft ACPI-compliant control method battery, select Properties and uninstall the driver in Driver tab, reboot and let Windows install the driver.
  • Also check battery status using hwinfo64.

Tried reinstalling the driver, Now my battery reliably reaches 97% charge, but it depletes way too fast. Following the recommendations, I got the battery status using hwinfo64

@Halbard check your battery report for any significant wear you're battery might be faulty and yes it's faulty as I can see abibe almost 30%wear I need a replacement if still on warranty send it back if not you have to buy it yourself more than 15% wear the battery starts to become faulty not holding charge and dying quickly nothing can be done apart from replacing it i have mine on ac 24/7 non stop for 2 year's now and have 11% wear
