M.2 ssd installation on my aspire a515-51g

Hello,
Recently I've upgraded my ram from 6 to 12 gb. One slot 4 and the other 8. The new 8gb ram I bought is "Crucial" brand. Everything seems working except the boot timing, it is so slow take about 5 mins to complete. I did try to do some changes to bios but everything is as same as I couldn't find any particular options and I enabled fast start up option too. So with no solutions, I got to know that installing an M.2 ssd could improve the boot timing and all. I believe its true? If not please correct me and my question is, am I supposed to install the windows in this ssd? If I do so, won't it look like it's a newly installed Windows with all my data is gone? Please guide me how to do it in some simple steps. Btw, I'm planning to buy either

Western Digital Green 120GB M.2 SATA III 6Gb/s Internal SSD.

Or

Samsung 970 EVO Plus Series - 250GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD (MZ-V7S250BW).

Depending on the budget

Hi,
Yes, your HDD has 100MB EFI partition and 1.00GB Recovery partition while the 120GB SSD doesn't have them, so you have to do it again, I would suggest you to backup the important data(pics, docs and other personal files) to another external HDD, then do the Migration using Minitool Partition wizard.

Hi,
Yes, you can install either of the SSDs, you can use Minitool partition wizard free program to migrate the OS and your data to the new SSD, download and install Minitool partition wizard, run it and click Migrate feature to transfer whole HDD contents to the new SSD, then go to BIOS and change the boot order to make SSD as your first boot device.

My current HDD is 1 tb and 450 GB already used, if i buy a ssd of 250 gb space, how will it work, please guide me which is the best option, to reinstall or what else

Hi,
I would do the following:
Get a spare HDD and transfer all important data to it leaving only the original OS, download and install Minitool Partition wizard, install the 250GB M.2 SSD, use migrate feature to transfer the OS to M.2 SSD, then once the migration is successful and able to boot with the SSD, format the HDD(1TB) and transfer the data from the external spare HDD. HTH.
PS:
You can not have OS in HDD and SSD, so once you have finished with the migration, remove the HDD and try booting with SSD.

Hi, i installed

Kingston A400 120G SATA M.2 2280 Internal SSD - SA400M8/120G

and i coned everything. When it was to change the boot settings in BIOS menu. SSD is not showing there (shows only HDD as before).
Pic shows the SSD is installed as i could see it on My computer. (drive D). What should i do to make it appear in the boot menu?

i installed Kingston A400 120G SATA M.2 2280 Internal SSD - SA400M8/120G for my acer aspire a515-51g. I installed it by myself, when i did this, screw to hold the m2 was missing, so i used one of the HDD screw to fix it. It worked and i made it available from partitioning, cloned using Macrium Reflect, everything was done. And when it comes to the last step of changing HDD to SSD in boot option,its not showing there, i could only see HDD as before.
