Why are many G3-571/2 owners having this battery issue from last month?

I saw the video. There is no option for refresh this pc for me. I cannot reset pc at this point as i need data. I tried uninstalling quality update but the problem still persists. Should i try uninstalling feature update??
  • I think the best option would be to try to restore windows to a date earlier than the battery problem.

Get an external HDD and move your data to that. Then do as @egydiocoelho says. Btw, one of my group's member has G3-572 but is still on 1803. Even he was having this issue. He did the calibration and his battery charges to 100 now, just like mine.

I dont mind doing the calibration man. But mine is not charging more than 97% due to the bug. How do i even get it to 100%. Should i just discharge it completely?

Similar thing happened to me as well, but I kept it on charging. It somehow moved past it. You can try discharging it completely and then plug-in and start the PC and let it charge till 100.

Agreed. Same issue happened with me and issue got resolved in similar way. Only extra step I did was, I undervolted my CPU also in the process. And after that I did battery calibration which fixed the issue.

Chinu92 any battery issues have nothing to do with TS all internal laptop batteries need to be properly maintained or they will end up dying (not like in the old days that you would remove the battery to not get damaged due to overcharge/heat the new internal ones do not overcharge but need to be properly calibrated once every 3 months or so this means let it completely discharge and recharge to 100% 3 times for a proper calibration if they arent faulty already) the only function of TS its to do with the cpu nothing else :)

I will calibrate thrice as you said. My wear is at 18%. So it's not faulty yet, right?

Calibrated thrice. Still facing the same bug. Guess the only way now is to not play games on the laptop. No guarantee that even a new battery will help
