So I have seen that there are 2 graphics cards in my new nitro 5 laptop (Its the Nitro 515-52, if it should help) I wonder if there should be a way for the machine to automatically switch between the 2 or that I could just manually switch between them. Like for example, you would not want the big graphics card running when you just using your browser which doesn't require that much graphics power but when you would need that kind of power that the big one can produce that would be for gaming as it is intended for or just anything other which would (idk I only use it for gaming).

Personally I have the Nvidia on all the time and my screenshot below is for my settings but if you want to have the Dedicated card run the routine stuff and the Nvidia Discrete card run your demanding games and programs, then leave the Global setting at Auto Select but under Program Settings select your games and demanding programs to run on the Nvidia card

Make sure you do this below and always game on 100% battery BEFORE gaming and KEEP plugged in while gaming, in your Windows Power plan select High Performance when on AC and in Nitrosense make sure High performance is selected under "AC" tab

Go to the Nvidia control center and click Manage 3d settings tab, then click the Global Settings tab and change Preferred Graphics processor from Auto select to your Nvidia GPU, do this by clicking the downward arrow to the right of Auto Select and select the Nvidia GPU. Then under the Program Settings tab select the programs and games that you want to run on the Nvidia GPU. Do the same under the Set PhysX Configuration tab

thx for the answer sadly the Nvidia control panel don't work for my windows 10 machine I searched on google how to get it and told me to get it off the Microsoft store when I tried that it just came up with an error
  • This microsoft nvidia application only works with dch drivers. Currently, nvidia is releasing only dch drivers. You must install the dch driver from the nvidia website.

That is weird that you say it doesn't work on your machine because just last night a user with a similar problem installed it successfully.

Do this, do a clean uninstall of anything that says Nvidia using DDU https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Then install the Nvidia drivers from here and configure the Control center as I outlined above https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us#
