I am trying to set up a new headset with my laptop  however no matter what I do I cannot get the laptop to use anything other than the in-built microphone.
My laptop is an Acer Aspire E15,  E5-576G-81GD. The headset is a Logitech G332.
So far I have tried: Restarting machine, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling Realtek HD Audio manager, reviewing setting in audio manager, finding and restoring corrupt files on machine, trying headset on another computer (It worked there), and using a USB microphone/headphone adapter. I've even tried rolling back to earlier versions of drivers to no avail.
If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

Firmly push the plug into the jack. Then try incrementally pulling the plug slightly out. Also pushing side to side. The microphone connectors are the top two ring contacts nearest the plug wire. Either PC or OMTP. Jack E/NJ

Right click on the speaker icon without the headset plugged in. Click 'playback devices' . Right click and disable internal microphone. Now plug headset back in. Jack E/NJ

    >>>using a USB microphone/headphone adapter>>>

The jack sliders in the USB adapter are probably not snug enough on the headset plug either. Rather than fool with and try to bend the sliders toward the center pin in the laptop jack, you might want to try bending the sliders on the adapter's jack and use USB port instead. Jack E/NJ

I have a Razer Kraken Pro V2 Headphone and it works for audio but the mic doesn't get registered at all. The headset itself doesn't seem to be recognized by the laptop but the audio seems to work fine. I would like my microphone to work though. My laptop has an issue with the fan where it is really loud and the in built mic keeps picking it up. I have an Acer Aspire E15 - E5-576G-5762
