HELLO! I have two slots for RAM. In one of them: A-Data 4 GB DDR4-2400 MHz. Now I want to buy 4 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, but I don’t know what timings are needed. 17 or 15?  Will a laptop with different timings work?

Should be fine if you choose modules with same specs shown on the Crucial website for your model. Kingston, Corsair, Micron, Hynix, PNY & Crucial manufacturers should all work good. Speeds can be 2133MHz, 2400MHz or higher are also OK. Jack E/NJ

Your existing Adata ram is running at 2133 CL=15 with industry standard JEDEC 2133 timings 15-15-15.   But they don't make 2133 ram anymore.

So therefore you should buy 2400 CL=17 with JEDEC timings 17-17-17 which will downclock and run at 2133 CL=15  15-15-15 with your existing adata ram.

Or you could also buy 2666 CL=19 with JEDEC timings 19-19-19 which will downclock and run at 2133 CL=15  15-15-15 with your existing adata ram.

Or you could completely ignore what I wrote and take the easy route and just buy either of the parts below.   ;)

Note:  Your existing Adata ram is DDR4 2400 CL=17......but it downclocked to 2133 because your CPU only supports 2133 max. Which is perfectly normal.
