Upgrading the RAM on my Nitro 5.

So I recently bought the 2019 version of the Acer Nitro 5 and I would like to upgrade it to 16GB Ram. However I read that it can only take up to 2400Mhz but the current 8GB ram that came installed is SKHynix 2666Mhz. Would that mean that it’s safe for me to buy another 8GB 2666Mhz? Or should it be 2400Mhz?

The ram I’m looking into buying is Crucidal 8GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM. I read that it’s compatible.

    Hi,
You have already got a 2666MHz module, so you can install the selected 2666MHz Crucial RAM, they recommend the 2400MHz module because they must have tested with the 2400MHz module on the motherboard at the time of production.

    Yet they put a 2666?

They might have had the 2666 module available at the time of assembly.

I think they bought a job lot of those Hynix 2666 mhz because they seem to be stock on most Nitro models

Please click YES if I answered your question

I am not an ACER employee
Thank you and have a blessed day  B)
