Predator Helios 300 Motherboard replacement.

Hello, I have a Predator Helios 300. It was bought back in December 2017 for USD $1000 from USA. I live in India. The warranty got over in December 2018. But just 2 days ago, the laptop got overheated and died. Not charging, Not turning on, Nothing. I contacted Acer and they sent an engineer over for inspection. He said that the Motherboard was damaged and needed replacement. But the motherboard itself costs about USD $900. I am a student and cannot afford to spend this much amount of money on Motherboard replacement. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what should I do in this case?

    Your only option is to find a used/refurbished mobo on aliexpress (probably) or any other website where you could find it this is why importing hardware especially laptops its not a good idea you might had got it much cheaper but even on warranty if would need it while still valid they would probably wouldnt accept is because the US warranty its only valid for US not abroad

    Predator laptops always have international warranty for one year

    Dank_fables the International warranty you are talking about its called ITW (international travellers warranty) will only cover you when traveling to another country for work or leisure but the carry in warranty will only be accepted in the country where the laptop was bought i already explained this above if you have more doubts consult the warranty policies on the acer website from your own country i hope this is clear now from any doubts :) and i advise everyone to buy extended warranty when buying a gaming laptop after all its a long term investment

    laptops bought in usa will not have any warranty in india if you are not a traveller from usa.to claim the ITW you need to show them concerned documents. if replacement motherboard is too costly then its better not to buy it. buy a secondhand laptop from olx for verylow cost(30000rs-40000rs range) and replace your faulty motherboard with that one.and sell of the remaining working parts as spares in olx or any acer group in india. usually people have huge requirement of spares(like motherboard in your case).

    i can sell you an excellent condition ph 315-51 mobo. it is presently in the system, running fine. no over heating or any BSOD Errors.
    it has extended warranty till august' 2021 from acer. so 2 years warranty left.

    it has never been repaired, neither given for any service.
    i am asking ₹40,000/- , you quote your price.

    What kind of Warranty you are talking about bro..If a motherboard get's burned or any component fail's it doesn't fall under warranty then what is the use of warranty.what kind of warranty does acer provide.

    I am not the only one having issue with warranty for burned motherboard or component failure during normal use. You can check the forums there are many many cases. Acer giving warranty is same as not having warranty because of there T&C.I will never buy acer products again or will never suggest anyone. Better Buy Asus products.

    The Acer warranty information can be read hereParshadPRS it is out of his warranty period, but if he was under the warranty period on this case, he will still need to contact the local Acer support center for assistance, we as Acer community moderator cannot determine each country warranty validation process. For Jerin, please send me a private message with the serial number of your unit for follow up.
