I have a Acer Aspire E15 E5-576g-81gd  with a i7-8550u and it currently has 16gb of ram in it, between heavy VM's, databases and software development I find myself running out of ram quite often. I've read rumors that this machine can support up to 32GB of ram. Is this true? If so what kits are compatible for it?

After much deliberating I took a chance and pulled the trigger on a 32GB Crucial Kit from amazon and have found it works perfectly and it has been Prime 95 stable for 24+ hours with the Small and Large FFTs set, Memtest86 stable, and gaming stable. I also built a few programs and have had no issues as well.
No guarantees but it worked for me on my particular machine despite the crucial website saying it wouldn't work. As with any of this stuff Caveat Emptor!

    The ram model is : Crucial 32GB Kit (16GBx2) DDR3/DDR3L 1600 MT/s (PC3L-12800) Unbuffered SODIMM 204-Pin Memory CT2KIT204864BF160

Michael18751Because earlier generation RAM weren't available as a single 16GB laptop module.  You'd then need 4 slots filled with 8GB modules to get 32GB. Jack E/NJ
