After the recent BIOS upgrade to 1.06_A_A version, my Acer SF315-51G does not allow me to enter the BIOS and keeps asking for a password. I have never setup a Supervisor password so I am not sure how this issue has come up since the latest update. Is there any possibility that Acer may actually release a new BIOS upgrade soon to rectify this error. I noticed that SF 315-52 model issue has already been addressed with an update but no there is no update for SF315-51G model. The last Bios update was also quite some time back so I am hoping there is some resolution on this matter soon.

Sorry this is one of the adverse side effects that sometimes --- but not always --- happen in updating the BIOS. We in the users groups have no way of determining if or when  a future BIOS update might be released or even if it will address this issue. It is a random error that does not always happen nor is necessarily reproducible on another identical model. Since this issue is related to a security feature, namely a BIOS password, you must take this to an ACER service center to have the password error cleared if you need to access the BIOS menu soon. you may try to unplug battery cell from the MB + remove CMOS coin -battery for about 5-10 minutes, or perform global reset of the platform with FPTW flashing tool.

Additionally you may download official AMI Aptio firmware and try to restore bios settings with recovery flag

how do i change an email registered for this account ? or better let me quit this*** site! ****

    Try entering 0000 or 1234

Thanks RiderCurious & Anishq. I tried MB + remove CMOS + battery, infact disassembed all the way and left it for 30 mins. I also tried some default passwords including 0000 & 1234. Nothing worked. Haven't performed global reset with FPTW flashing tool because I haven't searched on how it can be done. and I don't want to risk messing with the recovery flags, thanks any ways. I guess no other choice left but to wait for the next BIOS upgrade where they rectify this error they have made.
