Are you able to HDMI or VGA out to an external TV or monitor? Just want to make sure the lid screen itself isn't an issue. Jack E/NJ

The bios boot block may have been irreparably damaged by attempting to use the wrong 4736 fd file. You can try to force a repair by re-flashing with the FAT32 stick & correct fd file by the Fn+Esc method. If you see evidence that the bios may be recognizing more than just the DVD drive now, it might be worth re-flashing a number of times to see if you can get the boot block back to normal. I know I'm 1 & half year late but just in case somebody else is searching, here's how I solved it on the same Aspire 4937G model.

    1) download BIOS from here
    2) extract exe file using 7zip etc to your desktop
    3) rename KALG0203.fd to KAL90X64.fd
    4) format a usbdrive with FAT32
    5) copy only KAL90X64.fd to the usbdrive
    6) unplug the adapter from the 4937 laptop but leave the battery in
    7) plug in the usbdrive
    8) while pressing down FN and ESC keys, plug in the adapter and press the power button
    9) leave the laptop to do its thing and it will auto reboot normally to bios and OS. (normally takes about 3-5 minutes.)

    Done.

This is exactly how I did it today. Thanks and regards.

@amarnath280495 you should start a new thread with your question. This thread is several years old and for a different model than yours. Please include the full model number, the symptoms and what led up to them, and the steps you have tried already.
