Hey everyone,

I got the PH315-52-78VL Acer Helios with the 1660ti and I7 9th gen off amazon.

I like everything about this laptop except the idle fan noise. They sound a little too audible in a quiet room when typing an essay or browsing the web. I wish there is a way to drop the fan speed lower then from roughly 2000 rpm to 1000ish on both fans or at lease turn off the fan on the GPU side since it idle when not in use. Please acer give me a quiet/office mode it shouldn't be that hard!

Regardless I wanted to see if these upgrades can be done on the Helios and if anyone has tried it, which are:
-Upgrading the plastic fan on the CPU side to the upgraded Aero metal fan blade (as it pushes a lot more air then the plastic one and less high pitch)
- sanding the bottom panel air vent to allow more air as I feel they are a bit too closed up and not letting enough air in

Let me know if anyone has any idea as i would at lease like to replace the plastic fan with a metal aeroblade fan as well.

Thanks!

It’s software. Acer choose that the fan never stop

Yes, I Understand that I wanted to see if anyone has been able to change the the .dll in the Acer Predator Sense to drop change the value of the fan speed as I doubt Acer will ever do it. (Unless a Acer Rep. is reading please make a small change and add quiet mode)

Yes totally, at least GPU should turn off when there's very light load on the system, actually even when cpu idling at like 35-38c GPU fan run at like 1900RPM and CPU fan at like 1600RPM which kinda weird.
    that should be fixed

belik so its on PS xtu profiles ??? i thought it was all controlled by the bios if not my bad :)  anyway Emdrag13 regarding the chassis modding someone in the predator fb group awhile ago modded a H300 (older not 2019) with a water cooler and it was working fine also you probably wont be able to find any aeroblades anywhere  they are acer exclusive for warranty repair only as far as im aware and also they perform better but theres also a downside they gather much more dust/debris in much less time than the plastic ones so it will need to be cleaned more often

If you still can an you may return the laptop because no one from Acer will care or fix it, your fans will always spin at 1700/2200
