Hiya, bought a Acer Aspire 885 yesterday everything was going well until I screwed up Microsoft Outlook (Office Pro) which won't let me enter it or delete the profile I created I  am on the point of a factory reset. My question is if I perform a factory reset will I lose the Acer pre-installed programmes and finish up with bare windows 10 (64bit) machine or will it return to the 'out-of-the-box' state as I bought it with all pre installed aps and programmes intact?

Windows give you both the options, to keep your files and reset it or  clean the drive and everything gets deleted when resetting.

The two options seem to be remove apps and settings or remove everything, I would like to keep the Acer apps/programs that came with the machine, I suspect the the first option will destroy these?

If you do the Acer recovery, you will get the full Acer build. If you do a Windows reset you will get only the Windows installation.
