Acer Aspire E1-731 - Battery info?

Hi All,

The battery on my Win7x64 Aspire E1-731 is at 39% capacity, so I bought a new hi-cap (7800mW) battery which runs "solo" but refuses to charge. I've tried the trick of removing the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" from device manager, rebooting, and letting the driver reinstall, but that doesn't work. Now that I'm paying a little more attention to the battery nomenclature, I'm totally confused on what replacement will actually work. Google shows literally dozens of different 4 digit trailers after model number (the E1-731-xxxx).

IIRC, I once posted my serial number here and almost got banned. So, how do I tell *if* a given battery will be 100% compatible?

Thanks, I'm on vacation and will order when I get back.

Even though the above battery was listed for my EXACT laptop, the replacement numbers listed on the battery (AS10D3E, AS10D41, AS10D61) did not include AS10D31. Very frustrating, as this was (unknowingly) ordered from China and will be too costly to return.

    Thanks!
