Adding a SATA drive to a Aspire A515-43-R19L not showing up in my computer

Hi All. 

Just added a SATA drive to an Aspire A515-43-R19L but it doesn't show in explorer.   Opening disk management shows it as Disk 0, online, available space and reads unallocated.
What I'm I missing? the first time I opened disk management I clicked initiate.  and that was it. 
Running windows 10 home.

    in the disk management window. I right clicked the right side of the drive in question in the initiating window and created a simple volume.  it takes you through the steps. you don't have to change anything.  just click next until done.
