Acer Nitro VG240YPbiip displayport problem

Recently I bought a VG240YPbiip monitor and started to use it with the HDMI cable it came with.
Then I bought a displayport cable (Akyga AK-AV-10, 1.8m) and tried to switch the source on the monitor to DP.
There was no success, the monitor displayed only a no signal error message.
I then tried various Radeon settings (my config is Sapphire RX570 with Adrenalin software) and when I switched the color depth from 12 to 8 bpc, it was finally possible to operate via DP.
However I have still troubles, often my PC is unable to boot and during a Windows session it often behaves like a device when unplugged and then plugged back.
Anybody any idea?

Have you tried different cables? It sounds like you might have gotten a dud.

Not yet. I am looking for one which is already tested, works properly and probably I can borrow it for a try. Especially I do not intend to spend too much for a cable full of extras unnecessarily.

Based on the symptoms I described above with a good chance I bumped into the pin 20 problem.
The cable I used seems to be a 20 pin version and my card might be sensitive to it.
I asked Sapphire support the question to know more.
If this is the situation, a simple DP cable with pin 20 not connected may be the resolution.

Resolved. My suspicion has been confirmed. I have just obtained a Delock 83806 cable, it has pin 20 not wired and now everything is OK.

Great! It's nice to hear when someone figures out not just that you needed a different cable, but what needed to be different in the cable. :)
