Possible to replace current (broken) 45W DC jack with a 65W DC jack? (Acer Swift 3 SF314-54)

Hello,

My laptop (Acer Swift 3 SF314-54) has a broken DC jack, I've been looking all over the internet and where I live there's not really a way of getting a new DC jack of 45W without very long delivery times. However, I see some DC jack for the SF314-54G which runs with a 65W DC jack, my question, is it possible and harmless to my laptop if I use a 65W DC jack instead of a 45W?

Sincerely,
Tijmen

You might charge the unit with 65W but Acer does not recommend that because the unit came with 45W DC jack. you can also see the spec of the unit in the below picture.

  • Hello,
I'm not 100 % sure it's possible. The 4 pin connector is a little different otherwise:
    1. Same tip dimensions (mm): 1.1x3.0x7.5.
    2. 50.GYGN1.001 - CABLE DC-IN 45W:

    3. 50.GXKN1.004 - CABLE DC-IN 65W:

Hmm, the one I have currently looks most like the top one.

But you'd say the 50.GYGN1.001 should work? According to a store owner the partnumber I was looking for is 50.GXKN1.003 however, he didn't have an image of that so I have no idea if he is correct or not. The number on the little tag on my current dc jack is 450.0E70b.0001 but that didn't give any results when I tried googling it.

Yes of course since it is the Acer part number of your original DC-IN cable.

No it's wrong because 50.GXKN1.003 is the CABLE FFC I/O BOARD.

Yes that's correct but 450.0E70b.0001 (DC-IN CABLE 45W HT)  is the manufacturer part number for 50.GYGN1.001. Try googling with 50.GYGN1.001.
