My stylus has suddenly become unresponsive. How do I fix it? switch 12

Hello,
I just purchased the Acer switch 12 a few weeks ago. I've been loving it so far, but in the last few days, the pen has quit working and now won't respond at all. I've tried updating the driver and adjusting the battery placement and nothing has helped. I bough this laptop for digital note taking and now I've lost that function. What can I do? Thanks

    You need to replace not adjust the AAAA alkaline battery. About a $1. Jack E/NJ

    The laptop is brand new. Do I really need to change the battery so soon? Thanks

    Yes. Alkaline batteries for the Stylus pen are not rechargeable. It's like leaving a brand new pen flashlight on a lot even if you only use it a few hours a day. The pen flashlight batteries have to be replaced after a week or two of this kind of use. Unscrew the stylus. Take out the small AAAA alkaline battery and replace it with a new one. They're only about $1. Maybe even less at WalMart. Jack E/NJ
