I have had this for just over a week.  I cant find any automatic brightness level setting.  I find it annoying looking at the screen and it will dim then go bright then dim again every few minutes.  I have gone into Windows 8 power settings and set dim screen to never for both on battery and power.  When using as ereader it is hard to concentrate with the brightness fluctuacting

    Hi gilco2

You need to go back into control panel>power options

from there you need to go into "Change advanced power options"

    Click on "Display"

    Click "Enable Adaptive Bightness"

and then for "On Battery" select "NO"

This will disable and screen will stay bright.

    Thanks

My netbook has the same issue. If it is plugged into the outlet, then it will stay lit, but if you are on the battery, then it will dim to save power, no matter what settings you do. Try going into the bios to see if there is a power setting in there. That might fix the issue.

not sure how to go inti bios. havent read the tiny booklet as print is too small.  this will dim then not touching anything will go bright then dim again without touching the screen.  normally they dim after a set period and will brighten when you touch the screen.
