Hi,
I just purchased a Nitro N50-600. It only has 4GB of RAM which I would like to add to for running video editing software. To see if the RAM to buy is compatible, do I need to know if the model number has an extension? For example on the Crucial website the model numbers have an extension like Nitro N50-600-UR12. Attached is a screenshot. From my serial number Acer can't tell me if there is an extension. Would I know if I have an extension?

Yes, it's best to install in matched pairs. When you put a single stick (or an odd number) in it drops you out of dual channel mode.
