Hello everyone, I am trying to replace all the thermal pads and thermal paste in my laptop but I have one doubt.

Anyone knows what kind of thermal paste is the one in the picture marked in yellow?

I would like to know if I can replace it and if must be by thermal pads or thermal paste and in case of thermal paste if I can use the same as for the processor and graphic card.

Thanks in advance

reloopmst thats really weird what you have there the only place you should have thermal paste its on the cpu/gpu diodes all other chips are thermal pads i havent got a clue why you have thermal paste (or is that the thermal pads all melted?) in all of the other chipsets something is very fishy with you laptop basically they are all the same as far as i know since my model they have the same mobo and same heatsinks and i have thermal pads again something is really wrong with your laptop (when did you buy it did it ever got service on warranty ?) if thats really thermal paste i suspect it was opened before you opened it and they didnt had/bother to get thermal pads they just applied thermal paste??? anyway its a really bad job there anyway i would search for some thermal pads but because you dont have them theres no way to know if they were all 1mm 1.5 mm or mixed and i would also get some kryonaut or similar to repaste the cpu/gpu

If those are really thermal pads wow i havent seen in my whole life the thermal pads melt like that

Did you ever figure out what the thermal pad sizes were?

hmmmm hoping somebody will make a youtube video on how to re-paste the thermals on the new helios 300 2019 :#
Tips 1: For gaming laptop make sure before you shut down especially after a heavy gaming session to let it cool down for at least 10min before you switch it off!

There are 2 kinds of thermopaste on 2019 helios, normal grey on cpu/gpu and pink on gpu memory chips. It is not thermopads, it is such pink paste which is just more thick, more dense.
I think it is ok to apply new normal grey everythere just need to check fingerprints first.
Also it is good idea to replace white thermopads with other better ones.

On my Triton 500 it has that same Paste like Thermal Pads except mine were Blue instead of pink.

For some reason they put pink dense thermopaste on memory chips, I never saw such kind in shops so will normal kryonat paste do this job?

I don't think the memory chips need thermal paste no? Kryonaut thermal paste might be too viscous to put on the memory chips, maybe pads??

First time im seeing thermal paste on the chipsets but hey theres always a first and any thermal paste would do in this case if they are good for the cpu/gpu that heats up to 100 its also good for the chipsets that heat up half as much i dont think theres should be any issues with it and battousaiyaj as you can see in the pics only those 6 chipsets ave thermal paste all the others have pads so i guess those heat up more that the usual thats why they decided to use thermal paste instead i would just repaste all as it was on stock

Is there any info which thickness of thermopads to use, 1.0 or 1.5mm?
I measured their stock white thermopads and they are 1.1 mm  =)

@egydiocoelho hey there, how did you get that service manual? I'm looking for the triton 500 one for ages. Do you happen to have one by any chance?
    Cheers

    Hi everyone,
Sorry for not keeping you updated about the thermal paste and pads change, but I did it.
For CPU and GPU I used the Thermalright TFX.
To replace the white pads and and pink thermal paste I used thermal pads from Grizzly 1mm and

I just tore apart my laptop "

    Acer Predator Helios 500 PH517-61-R0GX"

And support was unable to tell me thermal pad thickness. Some of my pads tore on removal of h/s and now I just ordered .5 1 1.5 2 and 3 mm pads to try and compare.

dirtymotox this is one of the reasons why disassembling/repasting should only be done by those who are already used to do it and very carefully because no no laptop is the same

heyheywill the pink paste you mean in the 2019 Tritons and H300's right?? you can use any thermal paste available (its not the cpu/gpu) i always recommend kryonaut or similar do not replace the paste with thermal pads if youre not completely sure about the thickness needed as the paste its there for one reason if you replace with thermal pads with the worng thickness the heatsink will not get even when assembled back and you will have thermal issues this is why they didnt applied thermal pads to start with

Thermal pad thickness shouldn't be a company sercret by any means! It's basic of maintenance  and when I call tech support it says something when even they can't tell me what size to use? Wtf are people to do when the laptop runs out of warranty? Send it back? Dang not that complicated to replace pads and grease! Expressing concern and frustrastion, not directing any of this towards board members sorry if I come off assholish.
