Would this work with the internal slot or does it have to be intel one?

Labtop in question:

I got a ssd but game performance falls a good 25% versus the internal NVME

    Hi.

If it works, but you indicate a SATA3, and your notebook, supports PCIe x4, here is a link.

ThanatosXR anything up to 2tb should work fine nvme or sata i would just upgrade your existing m.2 to probably 1tb nvme should be enough (if youre into nvme and if you really need it for ex for rendering works etc if not just for gaming its a bit of wasted money in my view because you will only see the performance either when rendering or moving large files around) you can also go for 2tb sata for the same price of 1tb nvme as i did and depending on the games i didnt noticed much performance on mine and only had to move 2 games to the ssd so far all other games are running from either the internal 1tb hdd or the external 2.5" 5tb drive but again you laptop its much better than mine i only have a humble beast G3-572 which serves me pretty well  :)

Waste of money? Let me tell you 10 years ago my 80GB ssd costed $200 with read speeds of around 500MB/s. A nvme 1TB now is $100 with read speeds 3300MB/s.
Also $180 in 2009 is $215 dollars now.

ThanatosXR waste of money if your not a content creator you'll never take the full advantage of the speed potential because just for for gaming its a waste you can get 2tb for the price of 1tb nvme and 20 years ago i paid much more than you in € for a 40gb hdd not ssd and its !00$ depending on the brand you buy because if you go for the best you wont get it for 100$ for sure and i always go for the best and over here its all double the prices you have in the US (GBP)
