Why is my Acer Aspire A515-51G-53VC switching on/off the charging of the battery when fully charged?

Hello!
Recently my 15 months old Acer Aspire Laptop started making a "beeping" sound every 5-15 seconds, indicating that the battery switches on/off the charger. The beeping sound only occurs when the battery is fully charged, and I've not experienced any issues during charging of the battery.
Is this "issue" related to the battery being worn down, or is there something else I could do for a quick fix?

I appreciate all help I can get, as the the relatively frequent "beeps" are slightly annoying when during work. :tired_face::disappointed:

    Hello, I'm currently having the same exact problem. Did you ever figure out how to solve this?

    Hi, sorry to hear it. Kindly try power drain by following the below steps.

    Power Drain
    **********
    1)Unplug the AC power adapter.
    2)Press and hold the Power button down until the unit goes off. 
    3)Search for a pinhole that has a battery symbol next to it on the backside of your laptop, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole, press and hold it down for 25 seconds. Then release the paperclip and try to turn on the unit and check.

    if this does not work try out a different wall socket or try swapping power cables with monitor power cable to see if the power cable is bad.

                If that doesn't resolve the issue, kindly try reinstall the drivers and check. Check the steps below.

    Try uninstalling and re-installing the battery drivers of the unit, follow the steps below:

    1) In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager.
    2) Right-click (or press and hold) the name of the battery driver, and select Uninstall.
    3) Restart your PC.
    4) Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver

    Thank you for your thoughtful response. However, the laptop is still making the beeping noise once fully charged. I thought maybe it was the latest windows update but it wasn't that. The only thing I haven't tried is ordering a new charger to see if this one is faulty. I already switched up the cable that connects to the outlet and to the charger portion and no luck.

    Try the resetting the battery meter, it can go out of whack over time. Use laptop unplugged until battery gets to just below 10% then recharge to 100%.  Repeat for a total of 3 times and let us know

    Alright so I did this, and it stopped beeping for a few days now, and just now it started beeping again. I think I'll keep trying to reset the battery meter unless someone offers something I haven't tried yet.

    The fact that it worked for a few days then went bad again, suggests to me a bad battery, the internal battery meter is bad. I think you need to replace it. Please click YES if I answered your question, thankyou

    Hi andylb! Thank you for the feedback and recommended solutions.
    Now that I've tried both methods, involving draining the battery and reinstalling the battery drivers, the problem still persists. I see that you have suggested Andymeza "manually" drain the battery, however I am afraid my computer/battery won't allow me to drain the battery below 10 % without turning off. You see, my computer turns off without any warning when the power is critically low. I interpret this to indicate that my battery is corrupted and I should have it fixed?

    @Nix Unfortunately you have carried out all the battery troubleshooting steps so it's time to bite the bullet and get a new battery  :/

    Same problem started for me yesterday. Battery charged to around 90% and then kept swapping between charging and battery mode. Tried everything, but in the end BIOS update solved the problem. I am currently calibrating battery since it showed at one point 50% wear. But since my laptop runs for hours now and still has some juice in battery I am sure all will be fine. Bios update make sense since win10 update did modify battery settings and also power & sleep settings. BIOS has to follow these mods.
