Hello. When I try to start my laptop all I see is a dead screen.Thelight from the HDD works for 3 seconds and then nothing.

From what I have heard it"s a problem with the BIOS.

What should I do?

Thank you.

I have a similar problem with my 7720g. My notebook will boot up with an external monitor in safemode only. Fortunately the wireless  internet connection functions normally. I finally traced the problem to the VGA board. The Vga Board can be revived by heating! There may be a dry joint on the board. I used a hairdryer on high setting to heat both sides of VGA board  (after removal from laptop). This has worked twice for me. Everything boots up normally when replaced in laptop.

However it has now gone back to not working mode and I am looking for a replacement VGA Board. I might as well trying heating my VGA Board in an oven, (plenty of advice on internet on this), at a higher heat as it hasn't been a permanent solution and I have nothing to lose.

I am hoping to find a permanent solution by using an external monitor or a replacement part. I have just put a question on the forum about this.
