Iconia W700 : Gaming in low resolution

Hi,

I received my Iconia tablet over a week ago now, and I'm very happy with it. But I have a question. I'd like to use the tablet for gaming, but the games I want to play are somewhat old skool. For example I'd like to play games such as Planescape Torment, which I just recently got working on the Iconia. The only 'problem' is that it's in a 640x480 resolution, which is quite low for the HD IPS panel of the Iconia. So I'm wondering if it's possible to damage the screen or graphics chipset or anything by playing low-res games on it for an extended period of time. The main reason I'm asking is because while fiddling around on the tablet trying to get Planescape working, I was browsing around in the graphics settings of the intel HD 4000 and came across 'Custom Resolutions', when I clicked on that I received a warning that custom resolutions aren't supported and that they could potentially damage the chipset when used incorrectly. So what I basically want to know is, since 640x480 isn't listed amongst the standard resolutions the screen can handle does it then qualify as a custom resolution that could potentially damage anything whilst playing ?

Also, if there's anyone out there that's gotten the Bigg Widescreen mod for planescape working on the W700, let me know which resolution you're using ! The best one I've come up with so far was 1280x720, and that doesn't use the entire width of the screen...

Many thanks for any help you can give me !

It shouldn't hurt the system at all to be in 640x480, but it's probably not going to look too good.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply ! It actually looks just like it used to back when I played it on my PC. I've seen the resolution mods, but a lot of tinkering is involved and I haven't been able to get them to work in the proper resolution. But I really don't mind playing in the standard resolution.
