Hello every body..

Sorry for talking too much.. but I need to fully illustrate my problem..

It's very hot in my town, so I use a fan under my Aspire E1-572G which is connected to it via USB..

When I try to start the laptop while the fan is connected, here is what happens:

- I press the power button, everything works (including the external fan) for less than a second, and then stop, all indicator lights go off.. no charging despite the charger being connected..

- I press the power button again, nothing happens, not even the indicator lights, completely dead..

- Then I unplug the fan, unplug the charger, and press the power button, it works,
Then I plug back the charger ( which gives peep sound) then the fan..

- If I unplug the fan only, still dead.. I have to unplug them both for the device to work, then plug them back..

- if I remember to remove the fan before pressing the power button, the problem never appears..
It always happens when I press the power button while the ***** fan is connected..

- yesterday I made a mistake, I unplugged the charger and left the laptop for a while, with the fan connected, and came back to find the battery depleted..

- I tried to power it back on, unplugged everything, but no response, since the battery that I always depend on starting the device before plugging everything back, is now dead..

- I removed the battery and charger, pressed and held the power button for one minute , repeated it many times, but didn't help..

- the multimeter gives 19.2v when I test the charger, I also tried it on a Dell laptop and works fine

- My device does not have battery reset pinhole in below..

- now the laptop does not work without the battery, don't know why!

- I tried to charge the battery outside the laptop for more than 2 hours, so I can start the device with it, but didn't work..

- now I need to use the device without battery, any help?

  • Have you tried a power reset? To do this, unplug the notebook from the socket and also disconnect the lithium battery and then press the power button for thirty seconds.

Sounds like the fan is drawing too much power and it is driving the power supply crazy.. A 2.0  usb is only 500 ma. If there is a usb 3 connector, use that instead. The manual will tell you what usb's you have and where they are.

You do have a usb 3.0 port. It is the blue one, use that.

Just looked at my Acer laptop and the usb 3.0 port is not blue, All three are black so look in the manual.
  • Is the battery working properly in the Acer care center?

fans should never be connected to a usb port of laptop.

connect the cooling fan to a 2A mobile charger. never to the usb (2.0) of laptop.

as regards your immediate starting problem, take it to the acer service centre for checking the m/b.

I have the mb out, trying to find the faulty component, suspecting the PQ302 mosfet..

    Still need help..

Bottom line, your battery never got charged outside the laptop. The battery is likely unsalvageable at this point. Some but not all laptops should boot on charger alone so assuming a mainboard failure is not a given. If it was mine, I'd try a new replacement battery at less than $20 because a mainboad is well over a $100 plus major surgery and OS installation headaches that might not work out either. Jack E/NJ

    Thanks Jack

I made two small holes on either side of the battery, and the multimeter reads 15 v.

    The charging port is fine..
There is a mosfet inside, PQ302, receiving 19v from the charger on its drain side, but nothing gets out at the source side

When I touch the gate with the multimeter, the mosfet connocts the drain to source, but the charger loses its voltage at all..

I think becuase of a short, and the motherboard schematics could not help..

    >>>but the charger loses its voltage at all..>>>

This seems OK. If source (charger) & drain (battery) are connected when gate is activated, then the voltage drop between the two should be near zero. II the gate isn't activated, then the voltage drop should be 4-5 volts. I see nothing wrong here.  What am I missing? Jack E/NJ

The drain is getting 19v but no voltage at the source.. the current stops here, no voltage on the rest of the mb.. what could be the reason?

And I'm not connecting the battery, tried it but the laptop still dead.. no sign of life..

Sorry if I'm bothering with many questions, but I really need some help..

    >>>The drain is getting 19v>>>
The charger is NOT the drain. The charger is the source at 19volts DC. With no battery, the drain is directly to the mainboard. If you're measuring 19volts between the source electrode and the drain electrode with the gate open(activated), then no power is getting to the mainboard. Jack E/NJ
