Predator G3-571 Screen flickering issue, 2 weeks out of warranty....

   I've had this issue for a couple weeks, wasn't really bad, just an occasional flicker, often while typing.....its steadily gotten worse, I was going to send it in as it was still under warranty, but I could never get the Acer return email to come through, got the return label, but no instructions or anything like, plus the issue seemed to go away for awhile....well now its back and its getting worse. I'm 99% sure it is NOT the display adapter, as it happens at boot, on the desktop, and in 3D apps.....opening the lid to full extension and closing several times helps, but not as much as it used to, it used to happens maybe 2 short instances a week, now it happens several times everytime I use it, and it happens without it being touched at all.....any suggestions?

    Thanks SRI, got a good rep from "out of warranty repair", he reviewed my old ticket, told him the new developments, put me on hold for 2 minutes and moved me up the ladder, they are repairing it  under warranty.

    Could it be windows 10 screen flicker problem coming from display drivers?  I feel like it has something to do with the graphics you have.  Maybe a setting problem?

    Everything is up to date for both the Intel GPU and the Nvidia 1060.

    Try an acer stock recovery fresh install ALT+F10 on boot

    Dont think that will help, did prompt me to see if it happened in the bios, and it does, also happens on the post screen....dont think its software.

    Its gotten worse, sometimes leaving faint lines across the display that flicker differently when moved, also tried hooking up another display, and all the issues that show up on the laptop also appear on the other display hooked up over HDMI......gonna beg and plead with tech support.....I really dont want to have to replace this right now, especially not being able to recoup much of anything as I wont try and sell a faulty machine to anyone without full disclosure.

    Matt... two things:
    1. Try getting a Live USB of Linux, boot up via USB and see if this happens on it too.
    2. Backup your documents and try a clean install of windows (and use Acer drivers (disable windows from updating drivers)) and see if this helps.
