Hello.. I want to upgrade my newly bought Nitro 7 RAM and HDD. however, I saw a 'warranty void' sticker on one of the screw hole. I'm wondering if I break the sticker, will it void my laptop 2 years warranty? or what can I do to upgrade my hdd and ram without voiding warranty?

Thanks..

I just got a replied from Acer representative.
"As long as there's no damage done to the device, your device will still be under warranty"
So it safe to open the back panel and break the sticker guys.. :-)

You don't say what your model is but models that have individual panels for the RAM and Hard Drives do not require removing the whole of the back panel so that wouldn't break the warranty but I don't work for Acer so it would be wise to call them first

Would this be the case with the Acer Nitro 5 AN 515-52?

Sorry, forgot to mention the specific model of my laptop. it is the Acer Nitro 7 715-51.
The only way to upgrade ram and hdd is by removing the back panel. one of the screw hole has warranty void sticker on it.
Is there any acer representative in this forum who can give some advice? or anyone who had the same experience like mine?

I think it really depends on where you are.  My Nitro 7 had a connector for an HDD (or SSD) in a little bag with instructions that warranty status would be void if not done at an authorized service center...depending on the country (with a web address to check).

I've had the back of mine open twice now.  Once to add a 500GB SSD and once to upgrade the RAM from 8 to 16GB.  The back cover came off a lot easier the second time (and the process of doing so was a lot less stressful).

Just to add to this I had the same problem. I was very disappointed to see there was a warranty void sticker at bottom also. After having a long chat with the retailer who contacted Acer himself, and then contacting the head office of Acer here they confirmed if the sticker is broken my warranty will NOT be void 'unless I damaged something' while doing the upgrade.

Their exact words (which I have a screenshot of) from Acer I got are:  "Upgrading RAM or installing HDD does not invalidate the warranty, but if there are problems caused by the process, the warranty is void..."

I had to bring my new Acer Nitro 5 AN5 15 55 after just one day because of faulty bad touchpad  and speaker bad sound issue anyway, so I told them to install my sata and second nvme drives anyway.

BTW Just to double check I asked the customer service counter to re-confirm warranty will not be broken if sticker is broken. And she confirmed that my warranty will not be void if the sticker is broken. I asked her to explain why put a silly Acer warranty void sticker and then tell customers verbally if it is broken its 'ok'? Her explanation was the sticker was just to show that the laptop was 'standard' or 'upgraded (modified non-standard)'. So I asked why tell people it will void customer's warranty ? and I suggested they need to re-word it  to say something different because it is causing alot of confusion in many buyers. My Asus dont have any these stickers.

(Anyhow there are a few youtube videos by some ingenious guys who have been able to remove it successfully with no damage, but of course I can't recommend that lol ).
