Dear reader(s),

Today I decided to benchmark my Helios 500 using the new Cinebench R20.
What surprised me is the CB score of this i7-8750H: 2758 CB

I did 3 runs to double check the consistency (you can find the screenshots below).
I am not sure if I can compare this to the scores of other CPU's that where benchmarked using R15.
If I could, that would mean that this i7 scores more than 2x higher than the average i9-8950HK scores.

Because I am kind of skeptical about this score (it would be awesome if it's actually comparible with the older Cinebench scores), would some of the i7-8750H owners like to post their Cinebench R20 score?
Then we know if R20 uses a different scoring-method or it's just a wack CPU in this Helios 500.

EDIT:
Confirmed that R20 has a new method of scoring and ranking. I just ran R15 and I get 1218 CB, which is still only 51 points less than the i9-8950HK. But way less than the R20 score. The scene R20 renders also seems to be a bit more complex than the one from R15, so let's just wait for all other CPU's to be benchmarked with R20.

Greetings,
L

Thanks for your post. So I guess the moral to your story is that one shouldn't always believe, fuss or fret too much over CPU/GPU benchmarking results.  Did I guess right?  :) Jack E/NJ

    Hi,
Here are my CB15 and CB20 scores, with settings:

    undervolt: -.148
    Turbo Boost Power Max: 62.50w
Turbo Boost Short Power Max: 75.25w
Boost Time Window = 64 Seconds

At these settings, it just about handles everything I throw at it with all cores rock solid at 3.9Ghz with good temps. No thermal throttling at all and only the very occasional power limit throttling.

May have to dial down a notch when warmer weather starts arriving here in Sydney in a month or two.

I forgot to screenshot the CB20 score but you can see in the results list - for some reason I cannot get CB20 to save more than one result at a time like CB15 will do.

With current settings, CB20 seems to vary between 2800 and 2900 and CB15 seems pretty stable around 1220 give or take a few points.
