Check the selected font, you might be zoomed in or out enough to not be displayable.

Settings are same as they always were. Think something happened when I saved a copy of this txt file to my Google Drive and than went back to Downloads (local storage) opened it and nothing but rows of red dots. This screenshot is of another file I just tried to open after sending copy to Google Drive. One more thing, when I clicked to open file from the txt app, the text flashed for a second and than the red dots took over where text use to be.  Other txt files that are only in my Download folder I can open and no red dots. Really weird.

Hope this gets to the right person, kind of got lost.  You said that it looks like these two files got corrupted somehow and opening them in other programs just yielded the same or similar results, symbols of one sort or another vs. red dots.  YES, extensions have always been same *.txt unless when I copied text to google docs which I did one one of these files and when I tried to open them got rows of symbols.  As for content of the two files, one called Teaview Sound.txt and other Install APK from PC with ADB.txt.  Both were brief note on subject matter described in the title of each file.  As you said probably corrupted somehow just odd that after two years using this app/extension to Chrome really, had two files like this.  If it happens again I will just find another app to use as we all know these little programs/extensions rarely get fixed. Thanks for responding.

I have the same problem. I wrote this huge text and now it's lost. I already tried to restart the chromebook, open the file in different ways... nothing. Guess it's lost. Unless someone knows how to fix it by now. When I leave the cursor on the dots, this appears: "\u0"

"\u0" characters are nulls, so zeros. Sounds like it didn't get saved fully. :(
