W510 USB port on keyboard not working

Hi,

I got my ICONIA W510 yesterday and I am pretty happy with it with one exception: I cannot get the USB port at the keyboard working. I tried several USB sicks, a gamepad, an USB headset,... no device is found. They all work fine with the adapter on the micro USB port directly at the tablet. When I plug the tablet into the keyboard, in the system settings a "Generic USB Hub" shows up and the drivers are up to date, but there is no reaction from the system when I connect any device.

Anybody having an idea?

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried it with the power supply plugged in.

Have you looked in Device Manager for an "unknown" device ? Perhaps someone with a dock can say just how it is supposed to appear, I do not have one or the connector pinout (apparently a trade secret) to build one.

I had the same problem and this solved the issue:

    1. Start-up the computer with the tablet in the keyboard dock

    2. Disconnect power plug

    3. Un-dock tablet from keyboard

    4. Re-dock tablet into keyboard

voila - if you have the device manager open during this process you will see that the "unknown device" disappears as soon as you undock and does not re-appear when you put the tablet back into the dock.

Step number 2 (disconnect power plug) seems to be inportant, because I tried the same procedure a few times with the power connected and it did not clear the problem (either that or it was a co-incidence that the PC decided to be nice again at that point Smiley LOL).
