Hello ,

I just got this laptop and decided to get some RAM for it. So looked over on some sites and said that this RAM:

Crucial 4GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM

DDR4 PC4-19200 • CL=17 • SINGLE RANKED • X8 BASED • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR4-2400 • 1.2V • 512MEG X 64 •
Should have been compatible with the laptop. The short storey is that it seems it's not? When I installed it my laptopstarts but nothing loads I just get a black screen and it won't go past that. I jsut updated to bios 1.17 and still won't boot up. Am I missing something here or just got the wrong memory? Is there any setting I need to enable in Bios?

  • Some versions of this model came with ddr4 and other versions with ddr3L! Use aida64 to identify the memory that came from the factory:

In the SDP section it doesn't show anything. Guess because I got a trial version.
However in the Chipset section it does show DDR4:

    Also crossed checked with cpu-z:

So from the look of it, maybe the reason it's not working is because it's 2400MHZ?
