my Helios 300 CPU heats upto 98 degrees when i play graphics intensive games like battlefield etc..

GPU: GTX 1060 (6Gb)
OS: windows 10 Home

P.S.- my GPU stays cooler (not more than 87 degrees) even in ultra settings

should i tweak some software settings or is it a hardware issue

please help me out here......

I have the exact same model, the i7-8750h is a powerful chip that uses alot of energy thus creating high thermals. The helios 300s cooling system isn't exactly the best design for such high thermal output, that being said, this chip NEEDS to be undervolted to perform the way it should. First i would recommend a cooling pad, undervolt via throttlestop and cap your cpu hz. All these combined lead to pretty good thermals, i myself play most games on high/ultra at 60fps and never go over 85DegC. A community member, Hotel Hero, went through and set up a throttle stop folder specifcally for our chip. Its the current throttle stop settings i am using as well. Here is a link to the folder.

If you already have intel xtu or throttle stop installed un-install them and SHUT DOWN your computer then re boot and download this folder, extract, run and watch your high thermals disappear. You will not need to make any changes to the program you just have to simply download the folder and run it.

@Acid_Burn and also if still needed after all windows optimized/undervolted you might have to repaste sometimes (technically you shouldnt need to but its the silicone lottery same cpu's do not behave the same way) but always check with your seller/shop or acer support as you might void your warranty by opening it yourself if you have any warranty seals taht you would have to break in order to open it if so the solution is to ask acer support for a repaste and with a bit of luck in some countries they will even let you buy the paste you want them to apply in this case i recommend kryonaut

It shouldnt, but if you ever have to send it in/ take it in just uninstall the software.
