Any thoughts on the new Helios 300 RTX model?

I just bought a Helios 300 with the GTX 1060 in it. I'm still in the rerurn period and might shell out the extra few bucks for the new model. What do you guys think?

    Thanks for the response. I decided to go return it and get the new version (maybe).

    From what I've read the $1,199 priced model will have the new GTX 1660 and the new i7 9850H. Although there are conflicting reports right now. Some say it will actually come with a i5 8300H instead but that doesn't make much sense to me considering the current versions already have the more powerfull 8750H in them. So is that still a good value? Mind you I will be getting around $125-150 off the total price of the PC after an Amazon employee discount. So it will be about $1,100 after taxes for me.

    I think that will be a nice upgrade for the price. Let me know your opinions guys!

    From my research it's actually the i7 9750H and the GTX 1660 Ti.  From what I can gather there are no 1660 laptops slated for release and the 9850H will likely be as rare as the 8850H from last year.

    Yeah I meant to put the 9750H but couldn't edit my post for some reason. I would be very content with the 9750H.

    yup for those who are able to afford it just go for it :) maybe we will still see an helios 300 variant in future with a HK overclockable cpu :p

    Only thing that's weird is that it says "usually ships within 1-3 months" under delivery time. Obviously this is a pre-order item but not sure why they don't just specify that.

    That's what I'm really happy for.  Hopefully access to the m.2 slots are easier than last year's model.

    This is very true lol. It say's June 12th- July 24th ship date and hasn't changed so figure it could be at least another month before they actually get to the general public.

    Very excited about that too actually. That 256 SSD is tough and a pain to get to for an upgrade. And nobody's mentioned it but.....

    I dunno...  I looked at the provided images and found the Type C port and there wasn't the tell-tale lightning bolt symbol signifying that it is indeed a Thunderbolt 3 port.

    This could just be inaccurate information from Amazon.  I have scoured the Internet for as much information as I could and found nothing indicating that the Type C port was Thunderbolt 3.

    I mean, if it's true that'd be amazing news!

    So the the first RTX Helios 300 is available on Amazon for pre-order!


    Also the Nitro 7 is also for sale.  The price doesn't make any sense.  It's $1200 for the 1650 model.  Dunno why you'd bother with that when you can get the 1660 Ti model Helios 300 for the same price.

    Also, I have a big problem with the RTX 2060 model being $1,599 when you can get the 1660Ti model for $1,199 and the only difference is Ray Tracing and maybe 5-10fps in most games. That $400 plus tax difference is rediculous to me. The other specs are exactly the same. For $1,599 you could get a RTX 2070 or maybe a RTX 2080 laptop of another brand (if you wait for a deal) at that price. The $1,199 version is a great value though, can't lie.

    Actually you can't find 2070 laptops with a 9th gen i7 for less than $1999USD at least not on Newegg and the cheapest 1660 Ti laptop with an i7 is 1500USD.

    Yeah I meant an i7 8750H system with an RTX 2070 are around the $1,500 range. I haven't checked out  many 9th gen/ RTX 2070 setups as they are definetly out of my budget.

    8GB RAM

    For around $1,650 BUT it is an Eluktronics and only 8GB of RAM so idk how much of a real deal that is. Interesting though.

    But its just a max q not a normal one thats is why its cheaper less performance and less heat generation i wonder how would that perform and at what temps

    From where did you hear that the 1660 Ti model is Max-Q?  I've seen nothing that would suggest that.

    On a similar note, when it comes to the 2060 model versus the 2070 model (assuming the Amazon web page is correct about the 2060 model being non-Max-Q and other sources saying the 2070 model is Max-Q) I would recommend the 2060 model, assuming the 2060 model is cheaper than the 2070 model (a fairly safe bet I'd say) then I'd recommend the 2060 model over the 2070 model.  2060 non-Max-Q beats the 2070 Max-Q fairly convincingly.

    Of course, there's a lot of assumptions being made here, not least of which is that the 2070 model will be more than mere vaporware.

    The testing I base that on is from Technical City.
