Helios300: There's no different sound level on realtek default drivers for headphones and speakers

After plugging in headphones the volume remains unchanged which might damage my ears if not noticed and plugged in. So I was trying to get the different audio profiles like on most phones and Windows default (High Definition Audio Device). Can someone suggest me what to do in this case?

Initially I upgraded drivers from device manager, also tried installing drivers from realtek website; no different audio profiles for headphones and speakers.
Then I rolled back drivers to windows default and got different profiles for a while, after windows update there were again switched to realtek. Then I rolled back the drivers again.
If there's any permanent solution for this then please let me know.

You can temporarily block the offending Win10 update with the Microsoft hide tool until a future update fixes the issue and probably messes something else up. A fairly common problem. :)   https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3183922/how-to-temporarily-prevent-a-windows-update-from-reinstalling-in-windo

Or disable windows from updating drivers altogether (this is more of an overkill to push drivers to latest version for every little change), and you can manually update when needed.

Suppose I ignored the update, but what about Realtek drivers from acer. The issue is in default drivers from acer.

As mentioned earlier, it is better to temporarily block the Win10 update with the Microsoft hide tool until a future update from either Microsoft, ACER or Realtek fixes the issue. We users have little or no choice in this matter.  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3183922/how-to-temporarily-prevent-a-windows-update-from-reinstalling-in-windo

There is only one sound card inside your laptop and this caters to both speakers and headphones (considering you are using the ones plugged into the handsfree port). Windows 10 allows for sound on a per device basis and hence speakers and headphones both share the same volume levels.
If you are worried about sound, get a usb headset so you can adjust its volume independent of laptop speakers.

Also, I don't think I ever saw any laptop in the multitude of them I have used that have independent sound controls while they are hooked up to the same device - in this case the internal sound card and output to speakers/headset.

By the way, to my knowledge, when a headset is plugged in, sound is simply cut off to speakers and no other triggers take place. From the windows perspective, the device didn't change.

I remember going through a lot of uninstalling/reinstalled with hair-pulling results in order to get the default windows 10 "Headphones" and "Speakers" output instead of the dang realtek combined. After much much frustration I finally got it to stick... Only to see that the microphone wouldn't work properly/fully (at all? I forgot) in this state.

So, people who've blocked the realtek drivers: Your mic works?

Yeah the headphone mic won't work in windows default drivers, but we get 2 different profiles compared to realtek drivers. When the headphone is plugged in it switches to another volume level (say 25) and when headphones are plugged out it comes back to normal volume (say 80).
