acer one 10 won't turn on (red/blue blinking light?)

I have an acer one 10, about three months or so old. I left it unplugged and unused for a few days, then went to charge it back up-- when I returned to it a few hours later, the normally red charging indication light is now flashing red and blue. There's nothing in the manual about a red/blue flashing indicator.

I've searched all over for the problem and have come across the "hold power button" and "hold power button and volume up (or down) together" tricks but nothing seems to work. I've tried it with and without the keyboard attached, even. Nothing.

In the past I've been able to fire it up with no problems after letting the charge run down, all I had to do was let it charge for a bit and it would come on with no problems. The flashing blue/red light is a mystery.

We recommend you contact Acer repair center in your region, as you tried to do a hard reset by holding down the power button and the volume down button and that did not fix the issue.

Blue light and Red light feature:

Blue Greater Than 30% Charge Remaining
Amber Between 10% and 30% Charge Remaining
Red Less than 10% Charge Remaining

I have already taken it to a geek squad tech, who could not get it to work. A replacement tablet suffered the same issue two days later. I returned it for a full refund. Not worth the hassle.

I am having a similar issue. Laptop was bought from The Source a while ago and is now out of warranty.

You will need to reset the CMOS, (the battery on the motherboard). There should be a small access hole on the bottom of the computer. You will need something long and thin, like a straightened paperclip. put the paperclip in the hole until it touches, and press lightly...hold it for about 10-15 seconds. That will reset the MB and you should be able to charge and/or turn computer on.

Hi thirtyodd , If the charger is flashing red and blue there can be 3 reasons. Either there is a loose connection , or the charger is not able to take in the right voltage or the battery is not able to get charge. Please check first if the charging port is fine and charger is connected tightly in it. If that is fine. I request you to check with another similar charger if you have one. If the same issue persists then its a computer hardware issue. Please contact acer customer support for further assistance.
