wireless won't stay connected

I have a Netgear Rangemax router which was working fine with my Acer Aspire 5720-4126 until a few days ago when I had to change some router settings to synch better with another device in the household. Since then, everything else in the household is connecting just fine, but the laptop only stays connected by WLAN for about 30 seconds at a time, and disconnects. I then have to click Connect in Acer eNet management to reconnect, which lasts another 30 seconds.

Router settings are Long preamble, and in the device manager I have chosen long only for preamble. I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?

I'm not really sure what you mean by that - I've been searching around the control panel for how to reset settings to default. Could you be more specific?

Ah - I'm sorry - I should have mentioned I'm a Windows Vista Home user.
