Brand new PH317-52 Helios 300 1TB HD suddenly disappeared. It does not show in Disk management or IRST. I suspect the drive is fine and this is some glitch between the laptop and windows 10, I am in a very remote location and just bought this laptop 2 weeks ago. Please assist me.

Is the HDD displayed in BIOS?
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

I haven't checked yet, it just suddenly disappeared after playing Ark a few hours. All the games installed on are showing as uninstalled in steam. I'll check in the bios when I get back from work, if it does show in the bios what is my next step... Someone in another forum mentioned this is a known Helios issue with the raid configuration...

Should I check if the sata physically disconnected?

If the drive is not recognised in BIOS, then it is worth checking if it isn't physically disconencted.

I pressed firmly on both ends of the sata cable... its a really weak almost paper cable... and now the sata drive is working again

    Hello,

It is possible that either the SATA cable or the drive is damaged(I doubt it is drive). In this case I suggest you to contact Acer support.

The SSD that you have shown will work, as well as any other 2.5inch SSD.
