Hello All,
I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 3
A315-53-52CF and noticed it came with an open RAM slot and an m.2 slot. I was able to install the RAM without any issues and also went ahead to install an Inland
Professional 512GB 3D NAND M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe with the intention of migrating
the OS to the SSD, but keeping the 1TB HDD for storage. Using Aomei partition assistant
pro I was able to migrate the OS… However, the laptop just won’t boot from the
SSD, the green ACER logo keeps popping back on an endless loop. I checked with
BIOS under the “Boot” tab and the SSD drive does appear; therefore, I know that
the OS transfer was successful. Long story short I had to change the Boot order
for the HHD to go first so that the laptop would finally boot.
One thing I noticed in the BIOS is that under the “Security” tab there is an
error message that reads “PCIE NVME SSD doesn’t support HDD Password”. I went ahead and remove any the login password
from the laptop, change the boot order in the BIOS so that the SSD will boot
first, but it still does not boot. I’m at the point in which I’m thinking of
returning the SDD and just keeping the HDD, but I would hate to do that since I
really would like to run the OS on an SSD….Does anyone know of a way in which I
could fix this issue?
Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced
for your help.
