Hello guys,

I've recently purchased a new Acer laptop from a romanian shop, and when I try to google it, I barely find information about the product. On the box it says it's a PH315-51-585W, but I can not find it explicitly on the Acer websites (I have tried multiple regions).
I have noticed that the Predator Helios 300 series usually have 2 numbers and 2 letters after the dash from PH-315-51, and mine has 3 numbers and only 1 letter.
I also can not update BIOS on it. Whenever I tried to update it and double click on the .exe that is provided on the acer website, it does nothing.

The configuration is:

  • CPU: i5-8300H

  • GPU: 1050Ti 4GB

  • RAM: 8GB

  • HDD: 1 TB, 7200RPM

  • Display: 1920x1080, 60Hz

  • Bios: 1.19

  • Manufacture date: 20-08-2018

Thanks!

I just figured it out. I've opened Task Manager and noticed that whenever I am clicking on the .exe file, for example "DH53F122.exe" it would pop-up as "7z Setup SFX". I right clicked on it and extracted it with WinRaR and this popped up (see picture). Using "H2OFFT-Wx64.exe" works now :D.

your is a specific model for romanian market and sometimes you can't find all the correct infos on Acer website but if you register it, you will be able to find all the specifics using your SNID.

About BIOS, first check the installed version:
press windows logo + r key
    then type
    msinfo32

    check BIOS version/date string

    Hi @IronFly,
Indeed, after registering my product on the Acer website I've managed to find it, but not with a lot of details, having not much changed as before.

Isn't the version from following the steps you written the same as the version that is written when you press F2 during the startup of the computer?

    yes, it's the same.

about BIOS doing nothing, had you try right clicking and running as administrator?
    any third party antivirus installed?
AC charger connected and battery at 100%?
